Our favorite fungi, a brief overview…

For some, hearing the term “Mycology” is relatively new. So, what is Mycology?

Mycology has a long, extensive history, it would be near impossible for us to sum it up in this post. However, here in the 21st century, Mycology continues to thrive as a dynamic and varied area of research. Revolutionary progress in molecular biology and DNA sequencing has transformed the way fungi are identified and classified.

Over the course of its development, Mycology has evolved into a multidimensional science, finding practical applications in medicine, agriculture, biotechnology, and ecology. Scientists persistently delve into the captivating realm of fungi, revealing their diverse ecological roles, potential medicinal benefits, and influence on ecosystems.

With over 140,000 species of mushrooms, many of them have shown to help in various ways. Mushrooms are rich in nutrients, anti-inflammatory, support blood sugar regulation, digestive & cardiovascular health, and rich in antioxidant properties to name a few. Mushrooms like Turkey Tail and Cordyceps have shown to have anti-cancer effects.

By no means is this medical advice, but the benefits of mushrooms speak for themselves. You can imagine the benefits of having mushrooms at your disposal, on your terms.
